Official Site® | Ledger.com/Start® — Getting Started

Welcome to the official guide for getting started with Ledger. Your Ledger device is a powerful tool designed to protect your digital assets in a secure, simple, and reliable way. By following the instructions carefully, you will be able to set up your wallet, secure your private keys, and explore the Ledger ecosystem with confidence.

Why Use Ledger?

Security is the foundation of cryptocurrency ownership. Ledger devices keep your private keys offline, away from hackers. Unlike exchanges or mobile wallets, you are always in control of your funds. This ensures that only you can access and authorize transactions.

Step 1: Unboxing and Connecting

Inside the Ledger box, you will find the device, a USB cable, and recovery sheets. Connect the device to your computer or mobile phone using the provided cable. Once connected, follow the on-screen instructions to begin setup.

Step 2: Setting Up a PIN

Choose a strong PIN code. This PIN will be required every time you use your device. Avoid simple codes like 1234, and always keep it private.

Step 3: Recovery Phrase

Your recovery phrase is the most important backup of your wallet. Write it down on the recovery sheet provided in the box. Store it safely offline, and never share it with anyone. If your device is lost or stolen, you can restore your funds using this phrase.
